try nothing sometime, it's delicious.
- Vegetables.
- Frozen are good- try the Green Giant boxed medleys, most have 40-90 calories per serving and with a little salt they're delicious.
- Asparagus. Asparagus is god. I'm not kidding. There are around 3 calories in a spear, a serving is 6 spears, and there are usually 3 servings in a bag of this shit frozen. Do the math. You can eat an entire bag of frozen asparagus for 60 calories. Make it in a pan with lemon juice and rosemary for kickass flavor and no extra calories.
- Carrots and celery. They go together like a horse and carriage. Get some fat-free veggie dip (I like dill for 30 calories per serving) and enjoy. Carrots are extremely low-calorie, celery is almost no-calorie, and both are filling.
- Salad. Except, if you aren't using fat-free dressing, don't eat this. Ever. Full-fat dressing is an insult to lettuce.
- Canned vegetables. These tend to be high in sodium, but green beans, mixed vegetables, and peas I eat from cans occasionally. It's simple, and that's important if you're keeping a binge at bay.
- Yoplait fucking Light.
- Perfect for breakfast, easy to eat slowly, no fat, low-cal. There is literally nothing wrong with this except the aspartame, and I don't give two shits about that. Also, comes in over 9000 flavors.
- Soup.
- Imagine. Garden Broccoli (70), Creamy Garden Tomato (80), Potato Leek (100). Honestly, this is the best soup.
- Progresso. Light Vegetable (60), Light Italian Style Vegetable (70), Vegetarian Vegetable with Barley (80). Progresso isn't my favorite. They have a ton of "vegetable" soups made with beef or chicken broth. Pretenders.
- Campbell's. Cream of Celery (70), Tomato (80). Make it with water. I don't care what your mother did when you were home sick from school. You make your soup with water now.
- Miso. I'm not sure of any brands; you may have to make this yourself or get it at Whole Foods/Trader Joe's/your local organic establishment. It varies but often has only 45 calories in a cup. Hell yes.
- Special K.
- Bars. 90 cals each, sweet and satisfying. I like all the flavors except blueberry.
- Cereal. Vanilla Almond and Cinnamon Pecan (110 dry, 150 with skim or soy milk) are the best.
- Fruit.
- Almost any fresh fruit is low-calorie and fucking delicious. Also, I feel very energetic and light when I eat fruit- my body informs me it's a good choice.
- Whole Grains.
- I avoid a lot of grains, but what's important is that you do not eat that refined shit. 100% whole wheat breads and pastas are roughly equal in calories to their white equivalents, but also full of vitamins and whatever, and they won't spike your blood sugar and blow you up like a balloon. Also they're much more filling.
